Chanter

A hybrid support class that improves the party through buffs, utility, and active close-range participation.

Version: AION 2 Chapter 1
Chanter in Aion 2

Overview

Chanter occupies the space between a dedicated healer and a melee combatant. It is valuable when a group needs more than raw damage: buffs, sustained utility, emergency support, and a player who can stay active while reading the whole party. The class is a good match for people who want their decisions to improve everyone’s performance without being locked into a pure healing interface. Its effectiveness rises with encounter knowledge because the best Chanter players maintain their support rhythm while still contributing at the correct moment.

Strengths

  • Improves the whole party rather than one damage profile
  • Can stay active in melee while providing support
  • Flexible when a group composition is missing one utility layer

Tradeoffs

  • Does not replace a dedicated healer in every encounter
  • Requires awareness of party cooldowns and positioning
  • Its value is harder to measure than personal damage

Recommended for

  • Players who enjoy enabling teammates
  • Players who want support without being a pure healer
  • Players who like flexible group roles

How to play

  • Maintain important buffs before the damage window begins.
  • Stay close enough to support the group without standing in avoidable hazards.
  • Use utility proactively when it prevents a larger recovery problem.

How to play against

  • Separate the Chanter from the players who benefit most from its buffs.
  • Force it to choose between attacking and maintaining support coverage.
  • Punish predictable melee approaches with control.
